Bozeman Hot Springs
Bozeman Hot Springs is a year-round soak with several pools at different temperatures, a sauna and steam room, and an outdoor pool that's especially good on a cold day. It's a short drive from town and an easy way to spend a couple of relaxed hours.
It's a great one for families, or a low-key way to unwind after a day of hiking, skiing, or fishing. Day passes are available at the door.
Getting there
Bozeman Hot Springs is at 81123 Gallatin Rd, 8 miles west of Bozeman on US 191. That is the road to Big Sky and West Yellowstone, so it fits neatly on the way back from either. Phone: (406) 586-6492.
Good to know
Closed Fridays at sundown through Saturdays at sundown. Plan your soak around it.
No alcohol. Outside food and drinks are allowed.
Bring a water bottle. Sitting in hot water dehydrates you.
Go in the evening. The outdoor lights are soft and pretty after dark.
What to expect
There are 12 pools, from about 57 to 106 degrees, indoors and out. One outdoor pool is for kids. The indoor pools use a flow-through system without chemicals and are drained and cleaned every night. The outdoor pools have some chlorine. There are saunas too.
Hours and prices
Monday to Thursday, 5:30 am to 11 pm. Friday, 5:30 am until sundown. Closed from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. Saturday it reopens at sundown and stays open until midnight. Sunday, 8 am to 11 pm.
An adult day pass is $28 on weekdays and $34 on weekends and holidays. Montana residents with an ID pay $21 and $28. Kids 5 to 13 pay $25 and $28, or $20 and $25 with a Montana ID. Ages 4 and under are $15.
